The Royal Tenenbaums website is an interactive project inspired by one of my favorite films. I love the humor of the story and the way the characters feel both like adults and children at the same time, which is something I relate to since I often imagine myself wanting to be strolled around by my mom. To highlight each character’s personality, I focused only on what they say throughout the movie. When you select a character’s name, it shows only their dialogue, which reveals their distinct voice. To make this even more vivid, I selected a unique typeface and color palette for each character, so their presence becomes visual even without showing their image. The conversations in the film are hilariously amazing, and I wanted that spirit to come through in the design.
